Thoughtful Spot... Life

My thoughtful Spot today is this...

What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.

I am so excited about my upcoming trip.. I love to travel and see new places! I grew up living in the country and just being an innocent kid... I remember wishing I could be a baby goat... I know that sounds crazy but I loved to play with the baby goat and they always just threw their little bodies into the air and butted heads and acted silly... They seemed so carefree and fun... I lived outside growing up, camped, grew a garden, played in the fields with the horses and cows, picked okra till I wanted to cry... I love love love the outdoors and the simple pleasures in life!! So a trip to Colorado where the Buffalo and Bears live, Trout jumping out of the rivers and whitewater swiftly running through my toes... Firelfies at night and a bizzilion stars in the mountain sky while we make smores over the camp fire... That makes my happy...

I will take pictures galore and make memories with loved ones... That is Life

Monday Morning Coffee Confessions

I am scared to death! There... I said it!

A week from today I will be in Colorado with my daughter and my sweet niece... I am so excited and cant wait BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be camping the first two nights and I have to tell you I'm a little scared... I haven't camped since I was a child and I'm going got be alone with two teenagers! It should be a blast. We are whitewater rafting on Tuesday afternoon... We are staying in a campground where there is showers and bathrooms and individual tent sites... so I'm not really that worried... I guess I'm just nervous that I will have forgotten something important and it will be a disaster...

Me to Wenie - "But I promise we will have great memories and pictures to prove it"

I grew up out in the country roughing it and I'm not worried at all to be out in Mother Nature... I'm actually pretty excited to have fun and make some memories with my daughter Wenie and the cousin Du... I'm just feeling a bit ill prepared... I keep making list and lists and lists of things to take with us... Maybe if I just trust my gut and pack and go it will all be fine! I'm sure it will... do you hear me trying to convince myself that everything will be okay?

So... if you have advise I am going to take it...please post any and all !!!

Here's the situation... Monday night camping in a tent on a camp site that has individual tent sites, each has a fire pit and a bear box (Eeekkkkk)... we will be there for 2 nights! I have a tent, lantern, blowup mattress, Coleman stove and THAT'S IT!!!

My Thoughtful Spot Thursday

My thoughtful spot on this summer day is...

My son "Bubby"

See he is a bit of a bear... always has been 100% boy!! He beaks things, he is loud and dirty most of the time... But Holy Cow he is funny and not a day goes by that he doesn't make my life interesting!!

So, Ill tell you what happened to him today after I back up and tell you what he did 3 years ago...

3 years ago he fell and busted out 6 front teeth at one of his sisters softball games... his lip was swollen and he had no teeth ( for about 2 years he didn't have teeth ) and then one night about 3 days after the infamous tooth drama happened... he thought it would be a good idea to get into his dads clippers and shave the front of his hair down to the skin... So I sat his butt on a chair and told him that if he wanted to cut his hair I would just shave his head... I did... shaved it down to the scalp... He looked like a convict without hair or teeth all summer long!!

Today... I got a text from Wenie that said "look what YOUR son did!!"... I always know its bad when she refers to her brother as YOUR SON... then she attached the picture!!

So what did I do? I told her to tell him that as soon as I got home I was would be shaving them OFF!!! I told him he looked ridiculous and that thank goodness it will grow back...

My Thought on this Summer Thursday is just this... Will the antics ever stop? I doubt it... but here is my second thought...

I am blessed to have a happy and healthy little boy that is ALL BOY and he makes my laugh (Kinda like his Dad)

First two days are going to be fun fun... Typical Thelma (minus Louise) kind of road trip days... Camping, rafting and being silly girls with a iPhone camera in hand ALWAYS!!!

TGIF PEEPS!!! it's a hot hot summer Friday, I am ready for the weekend with little to no plans... SHOCKER!! No softball, baseball or even husband... Not that any of that is a problem... Jut sayin'... Have a great weekend everyone!! Stay cool and hydrated-- I think I'm headed to a clear blue pool for some sunshine therapy!!!

Tonight I'm Mom-n it... Seth has family fun night to end his week at VBS... Pizza, cookies, sliced apples and inflatables are in my near future!!! Fun fun...

I am hoping my teenager doesn't run me all over creation with last minute plans... And I am planning on trying to do some reading as well this weekend...

Monday Morning Coffee/Confessions

Well... since I started a new J.O.B. I'm not sure that the Monday morning coffee talk is the same as usual since I don't have my normal Loud Co-Worker to converse with or the other characters in the office. This new office is like being the new girl in school... Kind of funny how I have stressed over what to wear everyday ( why?? They've never seen my wardrobe...) and the Q&A that goes on... pictures of the kids and the questions about my other half Wilkie... trying to get all the His Hers and Ours figured out... Where do you go to church? Are you a Democrat or Republican? Do you work out and where? What did you do this weekend? Talk about the weather and how darn HOT it is... that's really just a round about way of asking if you have a lake house and or does your family own a lake house... These are all "Let me figure this new kid out" kind of questions...

Being in a new office is like moving to a new city!! Its a chance to start a whole new identity... WOW!! This could be fun! Who do I want to be now?

This whole blog might give you a little insight into a person that you might think I am but really its a face. I am one of those "always happy" people and I tend to be a pleaser... so does that make me a fake? IDK... but what I'm trying to say I guess is that I am a hot mess sometimes and I try so very hard to look like I have it all together... I thing the word I'm looking for is "Undone" ... That is my Monday Morning Confession...
