What I'm Lovin' Wednesday...

I'm lovin' how awesome my black lab is now... !!!! Miken !!!! Believe me when I say it hasn't always been fabulous... He's chewed down the fence about 10 times, he has chewed at least 15 pairs of shoes and he has eaten cords off of every vacuum we've ever owned...

But Mik the most faithful dog ever... He loves my kiddos... He would eat a bad guy for a snack... :-D

Mikie thinks he is a human and NOT a dog... He for sure thinks he's Wenie's boyfriend... And he is Bubbie's BFF...

Top Two Tuesdays

I am trying to think positive so I'm going to try to blog over the next few weeks on happy things!!!

Top Two Fun things Ive done recently...

#1 - 80's Prom Night!!
So my crazy friend you know as Lousie ( I am Thelma ) is a planner of all things fun!! She gathered a group of peeps together and bought tickets to a fun party help at the Cains Ballroom where they just play 80's music and everyone dressed up in 80's gear! We Danced all night... pointed fingers and made fun of people we didn't even know... I decided that night that I am and probably was the the 80's version of MEAN GIRLS!!! Oh how fun it was... I think I traveled back in time...

#2 - Its summer time and in T-Town that means GOLF...

Lets just get this out there first of all... I am NOT a golfer... I have tried and tried to hit that little round white ball into that little hole and it just doesn't work... So... I caddy ;-)  ... That consists of a few adult beverages and me driving a cart around in the sun following the ones that are actually golfing...

Every year there is a golf tourney in Tulsa called the Copland Tournament and it is in memory of Wilkie's BF from High School... There is always a pre-golf game on Friday afternoon and I love to "caddy" and take pictures... I am the kind of girl that doesn't take offense to the "locker room" humor that flows freely on the golf course, I actually enjoy it... So here are the pics from the day-o-golf...

My Thursday Thoughtful Spot...

JENKS LADY TROJANS TAKE STATE!!

I am thoughtful of my little girl today... I am a proud Momma and I couldn't ask for more...

Wenie was honored to suit up for Varsity Slow pitch Softball with her school team in the last 2 weeks of the season. She has worked so hard this year as a Freshman and has really overcome some big obstacles.

She has maintained a 4.0 GPA with advanced classes and she has played both seasons of softball fast pitch and slow pitch.
The Franchise

She made the Freshman Basketball team at the beginning of the year and then two weeks into the season she went to Wilkie and said "I want to quit and focus on softball 100% but I'm scared to ask Mom if I can quit" ... Yeah, smart girl to go to the Dad first, he is the softy, I am the meanie...  isn't that obvious?  LOL   So, of course he said "talk to your Mom" and then he told me the scoop(that's what parents do)      I told her she had to make a appointment with the head coach (not the freshman team coach) and explain to her what was going through her head, but also explain that she was willing to follow through with her commitment and finish out the season! If the coach needed her.   So the next day I got a text during school saying "What do I say?"... of course she did fine and the coach told her she was very impressed and said she didn't had adult conversations like this with her follow coaches much less a freshman. Coach told her that she had to go home and sleep on it, talk with her parents and come back tomorrow and quit. I thought that was a great answer and Wenie took it well... She did quit...

Bedlam

Wenie didn't make her competitive team when she tried out this year. This was probably one of the toughest things I've ever seen her go through in her sports life. Her team was Bedlam and the group of girls she played with were all older than her so they moved up to 16u. A new team was formed for the 14u and she had to go to a tryout. All of her BFF's were there and they all made the team except her. She was heartbroken and cried (she doesn't normally cry unless she's angry-kinda like her Momma)... So off we went to start the process of trying out for teams who where holding open tryouts... after a few open tryouts, she tried out for a team that was going to be a new 14u team formed with in a 18u gold organization... She has taken somewhat of a leadership role on this team because she is one of the oldest girls... it has been amazing for her confidence and also her leadership abilities... She is no longer a wall flower but now she has a mouth... She all of a sudden has a voice!!! It has been a difficult transition but she has overcome the resentment of not making a team she worked so hard on and instead has turned it around and worked harder... She hit her first ever Home Run Grand Slam in school ball ... She has been thrown into a new position she has never played - Catcher - and she has done a great job...  It has all paid off... Good job sister!!
Again I say... Momma is proud!

She also went through her very first broken heart... she landed on her feet pulled herself up and instead of crying curled up on a ball for days ( like I would have done ) She got up, put on her makeup, fixed her pretty curls and went to school and softball... She is still going through the ups and downs of a relationship and learning how to Live Love & Laugh... but I am very proud of how she stood her ground, found her voice and put on her big girl panties!!!
He is a sweet boy and they are both great kids....
"Tanifer"

She worked hard, struggled through it, learned from it all and has ended this Freshman year on a pitch perfect note !!!

Congratulations Baby Girl!!! I am soooo proud of you!!!

Monday Morning Coffee...

Well obviously on this Monday morning the topic of conversation is the great news that Osama Bin Laden is dead... My thoughts and prayers go out to the families that lost loved ones on 9/11 but I am also very very cautiously happy because I am thoughtful about the troops still over there serving and fighting for our freedom... So I am going to pray a prayer and especially for my brother-in-law since he is someone close to my heart... And all the others still fighting... Lord, your Word says that whoever goes to you for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty can say to you, “You are my defender and protector, you are my God; in you I trust.”(Ps91) May all our troops turn to you and find rest in the shadow of your wings...
Psalms 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, 2 will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust." 3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence; 4 he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. 5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you. 8 You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the LORD your refuge, the Most High your habitation, 10 no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent. 11 For he will give his angels charge of you to guard you in all your ways. 12 On their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the adder, the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot. 14 Because he cleaves to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. 15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will rescue him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

Brad Thank You... we love you Bubba and we cant wait to see you soon !
